This research project is provided by Geriatric Research Unit of Monash University (GAIT CCRE) and provide an excellent opportunity for a PhD candidate to conduct a series of investigations of gait and EEG. The project will measure electrical brain activity, via EEG, and 3-dimensional movement during various modes of walking in both healthy and clinical adult populations.

Background: Electroencephalogram (EEG) recording during simple movements reveals brain activity associated with preparation and organisation of motor function. This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply. It’s offfered annually to one person. Open for applications from October 1, 2007 until November 7, 2007. The value of this scholarship is AUD19616 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
