The University of Tasmania, in conjunction with the Intelligent Island Program via the Department of Economic Development, has an ICT industry-focused doctoral research and training scholarship program. This program aims to facilitate the conduct of applied information systems research with Tasmanian ICT firms in the field of e-security and computer forensics in a variety of industry sectors.

This program has already been successfully running for more than three years and is now entering its second phase with the release of a further three postgraduate scholarships. The three scholarships are in the following areas: Securing IPTV for Mobile Futures; Online Intelligence Gathering and Cyber Crime; Digital Tracking and Traceability in Perishable Food Supply Chains
Open for applications until December 7, 2007. This scholarship is offered once only to 3 people. The value will be AUD25000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid for the period of 3 years.

Fields of research:

  • Information Computing and Communication Science,
  • or Law enforcement.
