Southern Cross University and the Grain Foods CRC (Cooperative Research Centre for Innovative Grain Food Products) have a PhD scholarship available for an exciting new project. The successful applicant will be investigating the potential of grain food ingredients acting as prebiotics and their effects on the immune system. The position will be based at the Centre for Phytochemistry and Pharmacology at the Lismore campus, with the possibility of also working in other locations. You will be part of a research team which includes grain foods industry personnel. The Centre is seeking a highly motivated individual who holds an Honours degree or equivalent in biochemistry or a related field. A tax-free stipend of $30,000 per annum for 3 years, plus travel, removal and thesis expenses will be available to the successful applicant.
This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications until December 12, 2007. The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. Will be paid for the period of 3 years.
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Biochemistry and cell biology.
