International Student Fellowships in Information Technology, MediaTek

Taiwan. The MediaTek Foundation has established the MediaTek International Student Fellowships in order to encourage outstanding international graduate students to study and undertake research in Taiwan, thereby promoting international academic exchange.

The objectives upon which the MediaTek Foundation (hereinafter referred to as “the Foundation”) was established include assisting schools in promoting the advancement of scientific knowledge and furthering the development of education in information technology.

Eligibility
Applicants for the MediaTek International Student Fellowships must be students of foreign (non -Taiwan) nationalities who have already received a letter of acceptance from one of the Taiwanese universities listed below as of the application date and who are to be enrolled the same year as the application date in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in electronics engineering, electricalengineering, computer science or information technology at one of the following universities:National Taiwan University, National Tsinghua University, National Chiao Tung University,National Cheng Kung University or National Central University. In addition, students of foreignnationalities who have been accepted by one of the programs listed above as foreign exchangestudents are also eligible for this Fellowship.

Award
The MediaTek International Student Fellowships shall be awarded to a maximum of six recipients per year. Each recipient shall receive a stipend between US$10,000 and US$15,000 per year. In thecase of students whose period of study in Taiwan is less than one year, the amount of the stipendshall be adjusted by the length of time that the student will actually be studying in Taiwan.Students enrolled in master’s programs may receive the stipend for up to a maximum of two years; students enrolled in Ph.D. programs may receive the stipend for up to a maximum of four years.

Deadline
Applications for the MediaTek International Student Fellowship must be received by the end of May each year.
