The postdoctoral appointee will work closely with multi-disciplinary ALCF teams, the MCS division at ANL, and the existing Cobalt open source community. May partner with other petascale centers or tool development efforts to address common challenges. Draws on knowledge of advanced scheduling techniques to significantly extend the open source Cobalt scheduler to improve machine utilization, reduce the administrative burden of managing the scheduler, and provide additional advanced features driven by user and science requirements.
