France. INRIA (The French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control) is offering 150 Postdoctoral positions for those who held a doctorate or Ph.D. for less than one year or are about to obtain one and would like to carry out a fulfilling research activity in the field of ICST (information and communication science and technology) or in a related field.

INRIA is at the leading edge of research and its scientific themes are innovative. You can meet there scientists of international stature or work with them. Novel ideas are considered with interest. INRIA maintains special relations with industry and fosters the emergence of startups founded by its research scientists (80 such companies founded in 20 years). At least 80 different nationalities are present at INRIA and activities are regularly organized in order to ease the integration of newcomers.

Condition for Applicants:

  • Your have held a doctorate or Ph.D. for less than one year before the reruitment’s date. If the Ph.D. is not defended at the application date, you should cleary point out the defence date and the composition of jury.
  • The positions are devoted to the priority research themes of the Institute. However, high level applications on non priority topics will also be considered.
    High priority will be given to French and foreign applicants who prepared their doctorate abroad, but again every high level application will be carefully considered.
  • No nationality requirement.
  • Please complete one application file per topic proposed by the research units.
  • If you have obtained your doctorate from within an INRIA research unit, you cannot apply to this unit. You may however apply to other research units.

The salary is 2,338.56 € gross per month. Topics pertaining to the Institute’s priority themes and candidates who prepared their doctorate abroad will be given priority.

Opening campaign: 10 December, 2007.

End of the campaign : 30 May, 2008.
