This is a unique postdoctoral opportunity to collaborate within a diverse and highly specialized team of scientists at the Molecular Foundry, Intel Corporation and universities, among other organizations. The primary role of this position is to synthesize, characterize and test new molecules for incorporation into highly efficient designer photoresists that are being developed for future technologies.
This is a one-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to two years. This position involves working closely with scientists at the Molecular Foundry in Berkeley, CA and Intel Corporation in Hillsboro, OR.
The Molecular Foundry at Berkeley Lab is a user facility for the design, synthesis, and characterization of materials with nanometer dimensions. One of five such Nanoscale Science Research Centers recently established by the U.S. Department of Energy, its charter is to pursue two primary missions: a) conduct outstanding research across the breadth of nanoscience; and b) collaborate with scientists from around the world who visit to use its state-of-the-art instruments, techniques, and expertise to further their own nanoscience research efforts.
