Postdoctoral Positions in Computer Science, Aalborg University

Denmark. Available postdoctoral positions as Professor in Computer Science is currently available at the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Medicine, Department of Computer Science. The successful applicant can demonstrate a documented high level of original scientific production at an international level, including proven further development of the research area in question.

An assessment of the candidate’s undertaking of research management and/or other possible management functions will also be taken into account. In addition the applicant is expected to have the qualifications required for undertaking teaching responsibilities. Special contributions to and development of educational and teaching related areas will be considered in the overall assessment.

The position requires research qualifications at Doctor level within one of the areas:

Database and Programming Technologies with particular emphasis on:

• data management technologies
• the design, implementation, and application of programming languages, environments, and tools or
• technologies for location- and context-based mobile Internet services

Distributed Systems and Semantics with particular emphasis on:

• real-time, embedded systems and distributed systems, networking
• formalisms for the description and analysis of computer systems, or
• verification and validation tools

Information Systems with particular emphasis on:

• development and use of computerised systems in organisations
• design and evaluation of the interaction between users and computerised systems

Machine Intelligence with particular emphasis on

• graphical probabilistic models
• data mining or
• autonomous agents.

Exceptional applicants from outside the areas will also be considered, provided they can contribute to the continued evolution of the department. Teaching will primarily be in computer science, informatics and software engineering, but also in other study programmes at the University.

• Research qualifications. List of publications with indication of which works the applicant considers particularly relevant must be enclosed, as well as 5 copies of each of the works the applicant wishes to be considered by the assessment committee
• Teaching qualifications
• Other relevant documentation.
