UK. The Department of Economics is offering three Postgraduate Research Scholarships to new research students from September 2006.These scholarships will cover tuition fees at the home rate and a maintenance grant at approximately the same rate as the Research Councils.

The candidates must hold an excellent Bachelor’s (1 or 2.1), or Master’s degree (merit or distinction).

Holders of the scholarships, as part of their research training, may be expected to teach a maximum of 6 hours per week.The scholarships will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Applications should include:
- research proposal
- CV (including a contact email address)
- covering letter
- two academic references
- your proposed course of study andqualification
- official confirmation of your degree results.

However, official confirmation of your degree results should be mailed to the Departmental Executive Officer at the address below. Photocopies of these documents are not acceptable.

Candidates are reminded that an application will not be considered until all documents have been received. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that all documents, including references, are received by the Departmental Executive Officer by the closing date of 31 July 2006.
