The University of Wales, UK
Students who apply for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes within the university may be eligible for the “International Student Scholarships“. This is awarded as a tuition fee reduction of up to £1,500 for each academic year of study and is given on the basis of academic excellence. There are a total of 40 scholarships available for the 2005/06 academic year.
This scholarship is available for all taught study programmes.
Scholarship Regulations:
- Applicants must be resident overseas for fees purposes.
- Students wishing to apply for a scholarship must firstly submit an application to University of Wales, Bangor to be received at the university no later than 31st August.
- Applicants must receive a formal offer of a place to study at University of Wales, Bangor before they may apply for the scholarship (completed applications to be sent directly to the International Office).
- Scholarship application forms will be sent to the applicant on his/her request, but NOT until the applicant has been issued an official offer letter of admission by University of Wales, Bangor.
- In order to apply and be considered for the scholarship, students MUST accept the offer of a place to study at University of Wales, Bangor within 30 days of receiving the offer. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship application.
- The Scholarship will be awarded to applicants who have met the entry requirements and any other conditions imposed by the University by 31st August in the year of proposed entry.
- The International Office will reduce or totally withhold an award if the holder has not made distinct progress in his/her studies as certified by tutors and as shown in the examinations of the University, or if his/her conduct and diligence has not been satisfactory.
- All scholarships shall be reviewed on an annual basis.
The University also offers an International Research Scholarship of up to £1,500 reduction in fees.
